If you plan to visit the 4 major parks, I recommend staying on Disney property and choose one of the disney resorts ( deluxe, moderate or value), you have advantages like extra magic hours when the parks open early or stay open late only for disney’s guests, free parking at any park, or shuttle to any park, they also pick you up at the airport and take your luggage to the airport ( only selected airlines) for free.
Besides, you can spend the day at the resort and have fun.
Only buy your tickets from a respected seller, there are many and I mean many places and websites that offer discounted tickets, many of these are scams. I only buy tickets from disney website, it is so much safer!
Get there early and get fastpasses for the attractions you want to ride. Also be early and get a good place to watch the parades ( different time at every park).
I went to magic kingdom with my husband and stayed there the whole day from the time it opened till the time it closed, it is a lot of fun and walking so wear confortable shoes and drink plenty of water.
Check the weather it can get cold, very cold.
Have fun.

If you could visit Disneyworld in Sept-Oct or April-May it would make for a better trip, becuz summertime at Disneyworld is crazy!! Plan to stay at Disneyworld for at least 4 days or more becuz there are 4 great amusement parks that you must see, purchase the Disney dining plan (Basic) becuz it’s well worth it, Disney’s value resort are great and I recommend Pop Century Resort…if you could afford more a deluxe resort than go for it. Also, no need to rent a car becuz Disney’s Magical Express will take you to and from the Orlando airport from your Disney resort and while at Disneyworld disney buses take you to all the parks for free. I think my answer covers the basic’s … Have a great trip!!

The best value holidays tend to be DIY – whereby you book your flight, car and a villa separately. The advantage of a villa over a hotel is that you are not stuck in a hotel room eating restaurant meals for 2 weeks which can be very wearing if you’ve got kids with you + you get your own private pool – open 24 hours a day (for those jetlag moments)
If you can go outside of school holidays you can cut the price significantly.
Check out the Virgin holidays website if you want to stay in a hotel. I would recommend Disney’s Pop Century. Virgin have prices from £899 each at the end of May. If you need to travel from Scotland or a regional airport then check out First Choice, Thomson etc etc
You could maybe manage without a car if you stay at a hotel on Disney property otherwise you will need to rent a car.
Look at prices for BA and Virgin for flight only – if you can go from London you can get seats for around £359 or less outside of school holidays. Then look at villas that you rent direct from the owner – there are hundreds to choose from and most of them will do you a deal if you stay 2 weeks so make them an offer. The Kissimmee area is the closest to Disney followed by Davenport / Clermont
Book your car through a car trawler website like travel supermarket to get the best price. If there are up to 4 of you then you will only need a basic car which will be a 4 door saloon.
Don’t forget to buy your holiday insurance as soon as you book.
A package holiday for 4 at £899 each is £3596 for 4 + all the extra car insurance costs.
DIY villa holiday with 4 flights at £400 incl car would be around £2600 – a huge saving. Which will cover your park tickets and more

I would go for a villa every time. We travel to Orlando at least once a year and will now always stay in a villa.
You get the freedom and home comforts with a private swimming pool.
Check out to see the type of villas that are available. From this site you can also check out discounted park tickets and car hire.
